The Getting Ready

The getting ready is such a special time of the day where the bride and her closest friends and family put on makeup, get their hair done, and share in the moment before two become one. In addition to the bridal party, there’s so many nice things to film…mementos, jewelry, shoes, flowers, and of course the dress. I step outside when the dress is being put on, and return to film the final buttoning. Each wedding film starts off with a highlight video of the best footage from the getting ready.

The Full Ceremony

Five unobtrusive cameras are set up to ensure that every moment can be captured without having to run around and disturb the guests and other vendors. The variety of camera angles also gives the edit a dynamic flow. To ensure that pristine audio is captured, small professional microphones are placed on the groom, podium, and often the officiant. All cameras will be rolling when the bridal party walks down the aisle and remain that way until the bride and groom walk down the aisle together as husband and wife.

The Photo Shoot

Here, the photographer is the leader and I’m pretty much along for the ride. Fortunately, there are a lot of great photographers out there and I always walk away pleased with the shots that they set up. The footage is made into a highlight video that lets the audience see the leaves rustling in the wind, random acts of goofiness between the bridal party, and the affection between the newlyweds.

The Cocktail Hour

Footage of the table arrangements, centerpieces, wedding cake, seating cards, and other details of the reception hall are filmed and compiled to showcase the room before the start of the reception.

The Full Reception

Like the ceremony, multiple cameras are arranged in discreet areas of the room to allow for full coverage of the reception. All of the formalities are captured and edited in their entirety, and plenty of dancing and guests having a good time are recorded.

The Montage

Footage from the entire wedding day is brought together to tell the story of how the day unfolded.
